Online Extravaganza!!!

Stampin! Up! is getting in the spirit of holiday shopping! Dozens of items will be on sale up to 50% off! But you have to order early because this stuff goes FAST. Also, on the first day, the Sizzix and the Simply Scored will be 20% off all day.  On the last day, clear blocks and storage will be 20% off.  To order, just go to my blog and click on the "Shop Now" button up in the upper right hand corner under my name. When you use this link, you automatically get the best price on anything you buy. If you go directly to the SU! website store, make sure to enter my name as your demonstrator to be sure you're getting the lower price. I would really prefer this to going through me unless you have a problem as I have family in town all week and will be busy and we all know what happens when I get busy - I forget things and I sure don't want to be the reason you don't get something! If you do have a problem, though, PLEASE call or email me! I'm here to help.

ENJOY!!!

Texture Boutique

Sorry it's been so long!  I've been busy with this and that and didn't realize how many days it's been since I posted.  And today, when I signed onto Stampin' Up! to see what's cooking, I found a GREAT reason to post!

We are trying out a NEW goodie!  It is in an extremely limited quantity, so don't wait to call me if you want it.  A lot of you have expressed incredible interest in the embossed designs I have on nearly all of my cards.  However, the price of the full Sizzix machine with all the trimmings is too much for many of you.  Here is a GREAT alternative.

The texture boutique is well named because TEXTURE is ALL it does.  It is lightweight and portable and needs only a few pieces to apply texture to all kinds of materials - cardstock, lightweight metals, and so on.  And the results are always amazing.  Texture adds such a professional look to cards.  The Texture Boutique is being offered two ways, by itself, and in a bundle.  By itself, it is $29.95 and includes the two pads you need to make your embossing sandwich and a shim to help with lightweight materials.  The bundle, for just $10 more, includes all that plus two embossing folders, one with flowers and one with stripes.

Here's a great video to show you how easy it is!  And remember - LIMITED QUANTITIES!  This would make a GREAT Christmas present!

Halloween Handouts

I have been having the most fun making these ridiculously cute things for the Halloween Handouts class!  These are neat, quick little goodies you can make to give to friends, neighbors, co-workers, anyone really!  If you're really ambitious, you could even make these to give out as Halloween treats to your neighbor children!

The class is $20, and you will be making between 12 - 15 projects (I haven't worked that out yet).  All of the materials including bags are included, but NOT the candy.  You can now sign up for classes right here on the blog using the PayPal button on the upper right side.  There's a drop down menu for the upcoming classes.  Just choose the one you want, and you're all set to go!

Okay, now...the projects:

The envelope on the right holds two miniature candy bars wrapped with a strip of coordinating paper.

The "Goblin Greetings" one holds a pack of gum, the "Boooo" one will hold pixie sticks or individually wrapped licorice, and the last one holds a single miniature candy bar.

The one on the left is another single mini candy bar, and the one on the right holds a box of TicTacs.

Keep watching the blog to see more!

Play Time

Since no one RSVP'd for the additional Open House, I had time to play last night and today!  This first sample uses a technique called "Triple Time".  It looks ridiculously hard, but is actually incredibly simple.  The only one who has to work hard is ME, since I have to cut all that cardstock!  We'll be doing this card at the New Catalog 10/10 on Sunday, Oct. 28, from 2:00 - 5:00.

I'm sorry for how dark this next one came out.  I love this set; it's from the Occasions Mini last spring and because of this and that, I wasn't able to use it in class.  We're still going to use it because I'm tired of getting rid of sets I love!  We just won't make this card, because I don't have enough of the little tags.  I saw this card last spring and decided I just HAD to make it.

Well, I'll finish my "apple" and internet break (the Honey Crisp apples are here!) and get back to playing until Scott gets home from football!  Looking forward to seeing lots of you at the classes in October!

Great Green Idea

If you're like me, when you're planning a change around the house, the first stop is the paint center at your hardware store.  I always come home with a fist full of those paint chip cards.  My intention is always to bring them back if I don't use them...and then, well, you know what happens to those good intentions!  I've seen a lot of interesting paper art projects using them, and have wanted to do one for a while.  This one is REALLY great.  It's simple, it uses one of my new favorite sets, Serene Silhouettes, and the new Oval Accent Bigz Clear die.  The great thing about this new die is that it is clear so you can place it over a stamped piece and line it up just the way you want it.

LeeAnn is one of our Founders Circle members, which means she is in the top 100 of all SU! demo'rs.  Pretty impressive - and you can see why!  She used StaZon to stamp the image, offset the cut using the die, and added the verse and some white accent.  I can't tell if this is our white pen or if she used the glitter glue - either would be great.  I think the narrow ribbon is a terrific accent, and the black background really makes the color POP.

Don't forget - another Open House session coming up this Sunday, Sept. 23 - five free card projects and a whole ROOM of toys to play with!  RSVP, please.

Another Open House Session!

I have SO much stuff left to sell, old sets, accessories, and so on, and had some people who unfortunately weren't able to make it last weekend, so I'm going to have another session of Open House this weekend, Sunday, Sept. 23, from 2:00 - 5:00.  There's no cost - as in FREE - and you can drop in any time during the three hours.  You'll want to schedule enough time to do everything, though!  I have FIVE free card projects, plus a two tables full of stamps, ink, punches, cardstock, and blank card sets so you can play and make your own creations to take home, PLUS a Sizzix play area where you can try out our embossing folders and I can show you the newest Framelits - individual thin dies that you can place over a stamped image and cut out.  The Christmas sets would be perfect for making lots of great Christmas cards and gift materials!  Here's a couple of pictures to show you how it works.
Stamp the image

Place sharp edge down over the image and place on the very top of the platform on top of a cutting pad. Make a "sandwich" with a second cutting pad on top.

Run through the Sizzix, remove, and pop the die out.

        See how perfectly it cuts?!

This is the nice package the set comes in so you don't lose the pieces.

Courtesy of SU! demo'r Kim Mouwen, a darling card using this set!

You can find the Scentsational Season set and Framelits Holiday Collection Dies on pg. 16 of the Holiday Catalog.  The set in wood is $18.95 (121026), clear is $14.95 (121190 and remember you have to factor in the cost of your acrylic mounts).  The Framelits are $24.95 (127814), and because Stampin' Up! is so wonderful, they're offering a BUNDLE with reduced prices!  The wood mount bundle is $36.95 (129945) and the clear mount bundle is $32.95 (129946).  If you can't wait until Sunday to have this, remember that you can order from my website 24/7 and there's a handy link in the upper right corner of the blog!
